It's Groundhog's Day!

Icy covered cedar.

A frozen hawthorne shrub.

Hard to imagine grape hyacinth scattered at her feet.

Christmas decorations not going anywhere soon.

The sparrows have found shelter elsewhere from the bitter cold.

Well the groundhog came out from his burrow and he did not see his shadow.  This means spring will be here earlier this year!

With the icy blizzard we've been having the last two days, it's quite hard to imagine the garden will eventually immerge into this again.

It's my second snow day from work and a great day to engage in some dreamy creations.

I'm pondering over a project that I would like to do in the living room.

I have a long expanse of a wall in the living room that I would love to add a stone veneer to the lower half and a wall hung fireplace.

I love, love, love the look of this white quartz stacked stone by Norstone.  It is a beautiful product.

I sent for a sample on Thursday and it was here by Saturday.  I love it.  Now to find the right fireplace.

I'm leaning toward stainless.  This model is electric and blows a little warm air from the top venting system if desired.

I'm also considering gel fuel but still uncertain.

As well as this one.

I'm noticing the wall mount fireplaces are getting cheaper by the day.  I still have a little time to get the project together.

How are you spending your Ground Hog's Day today?  If I were with my grands, I think I might go for a story such as:

Gretchen Groundhog, It's Your Day!  by Abby Levine and Illustrated by Nancy Cote

We spent the weekend with the grands last weekend and crafted Valentines and cupcakes.
